Internship
The Digital Marketing Intern provides digital support and assistance to the Marketing + Communications Department for a leading international association, The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). IALD is based in Chicago IL USA and is an internationally recognized organization dedicated solely to the concerns of independent, professional lighting designers. IALD strives to set the global standard for lighting design excellence by promoting the advancement and recognition of professional lighting designers.
This position will be a hands-on learning and execution role that will help across IALD’s digital properties that reach our audiences around the world. In addition, this role will be responsible for other duties which involve metrics and reporting, project management, among other duties as they arise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These include but are not limited to:
Social Media
Social Media planning and execution across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.
Social Media reporting including social media evaluation, trends, and regular metrics reporting.
The creation of a monthly social media calendar across various channels.
Updating inbound subscriptions to the database
Helping gather and create content for monthly newsletters
Pulling and creating reports for email metrics which provide guidance and insight into content creation
Website & Apps
Minor website updates
Google analytics website reports and analysis
Mobile apps build outs for large conferences
Other General Responsibilities
Overall project-based help for the Marketing + Communications Department
Research activities and benchmarking on best practices
Project Management assistance in the creation and tracking of marketing projects
Other marketing + communications support as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Third year undergraduate student or graduate student in the field of Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related fields.
Excellent organization and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with staff
Social media knowledge or experience required, especially with Instagram and Facebook. Professional social media experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Strong MS Office knowledge and English proficiency
Ability to learn complex technology platforms (like MailChimp, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, etc.) on the job
Analytical and creative mind; able to analyze information and suggest creative approaches
Strong attention to details and marketing performance
Resourceful team-player, with the ability to work in teams and independently
Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
