The Financial Controls Intern coordinates operational and financial functions and will work closely with the Founder/Creative Director. The Financial Controls Intern plays an important role in supporting Lilia by helping to meet their financial and operational goals. S/he will monitor actuals to budget, initiate corrections and work with the team to ensure sound financial stewardship. Please submit a cover letter for full consideration.
Areas of responsibility below:
Accounting policy & procedure
Reporting & Analysis
Working with founder to create a budget; maintain monthly budget status reports, P&L reports
Collection and allocation of invoices
Creation of Entries related to Monthly Subscription Invoices
Quarterly reconciliations of budgets, invoices and accounting
Focus on service by completing assigned responsibilities accurately and on a timely basis, providing timely follow-up and answering questions for assigned areas. This may involve unique situations where each assignment must be handled differently, using judgment and discretion
Interpret requests and help implement action
Perform timely analysis and review critical financial information
Create various spreadsheets requested by team
Attend (via in person or skype/remote)/participate in weekly team meetings
Meet regularly with founder to discuss status updates, progress reports and career development
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in a financial reporting role required, open to combination of education and internship experience. Experience working with small companies and start-ups a plus.
Finance experience in an agency or professional services firm a plus.
Finance or Business management skills a plus.
Advanced Excel required and proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
Working knowledge of business, finance and accounting fundamentals including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
This position with Lilia Sport Luxury, LLC. is unpaid, with opportunity to develop into a paid position at a later time. However, school credit can be offered if applicable.
