Overview:
The Financial Planning & Analysis intern will work closely with both the Strategic Analysis and Cost Management groups within the Financial Planning & Analysis department, supporting both teams while gaining an understanding of TTX Company. The intern will gain experience in both tactical, day-to-day business reporting and operations as well as the strategic analysis guiding TTX’s financial decisions.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist FP&A and G&A teams with monthly and quarterly forecasting and reporting
Participate in the preparation of financial variance reports, presentations, recommendations for management, and metrics/dashboard development
Support existing processes as well as continuing efforts to automate and streamline routine work, including data validation, system testing, and business reporting
Assist G&A team in working with Accounts Payable to process and pay IT invoices
Ad hoc analysis as requested


Internship Goals:
Develop knowledge and skills that may be transferable to any professional work setting
Cross-train with other Finance teams to gain greater familiarity with TTX processes, controls, and organizational structure
Successful completion of tasks assigned


Qualifications:
Major(s): Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, Statistics, and other relevant business-oriented degrees
Specific course work / systems experience: Quantitative Data Analysis, Microsoft Excel, Finance, Accounting, Data Systems
Year in school: Completed at least 2 years at an accredited college/university

Summary of Position 

The Summer Internship Program is a 10-week long program with the aim to deliver high-caliber professionals and future leaders, through project work, on-the-job training and related development. 

As an intern, you will participate in development meeting, a variety of networking, mentoring and community events, all intended to reinforce the Core Values of the Program – Education, Innovation, Leadership, Collaboration and Service.

Internship Description:
Assisting with efforts of customer acquisition & retention
Expertly managing the needs of external customers through various forms of content and materials
Identify news, videos & pictures for HighTower’s use in marketing initiatives
Help to coordinate posts for publishing on our main website
Help to initiate, support and develop best practices for HighTower’s social media initiatives including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter
Assist in in the HighTower’s social media full operations including drafting posts, aggregating content, creating content, follower management, & social stories
Qualifications:

AVP, Product Analytics (L11)

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The AVP, Product Analytics role is responsible for developing, enhancing, and implementing analytic strategies to drive the profitable growth of our dual card and co-brand products. The full customer lifecycle is in scope including acquisition, EMOB activation, and retention strategies. The desired employee is expected to manage a queue of analytical projects from start to finish and develop actionable recommendations based on findings. This will include behavioral analytics, segmentation, building proformas, and other activities related to improving portfolio performance. This individual is expected to partner with internal stakeholders to influence and drive strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:
Provide primary analytics support to develop and implement product and marketing strategies for our Dual Card and Co-brand products. A strong partnership with internal stakeholders and client teams is necessary to drive and implement these strategies
Provide analytics for co-brand strategic initiatives, premium products, dual card upgrades, and prescreens including opportunity sizing, targeting and measurement approach.
Analyze and segment customers by behavior, level of engagement, and profitability to ensure that targeting strategies meets the needs of customers and the business
Conduct wing to wing extensive analysis of performance trends and provide insightful business performance analytics.
Provide strategic thought leadership and influence SYF business leaders and client teams to implement marketing and product strategies based upon customer, financial and data driven insights
Establish test and control strategies to measure bottom-line impact of targeting strategies by leveraging advanced analytical tools such as segmentation, and statistical models
Conduct Ad-hoc analysis as required, bringing independent thought leadership and value-added insights and judgment
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree OR in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, high school diploma and 9+ years of progressive experience working with data/analytics in the financial services, credit card and/or payments industry.
5+ years of experience, including:3+ years of experience data mining or programming in SAS, SQL, R, Python, or other comparable languages
3+ years’ experience in analytics role with cross-functional stakeholders such as marketing, clients, credit risk, finance

Desired Characteristics:
Proven hands-on experience utilizing SAS or SQL data mining skills
Strong understanding of targeting and segmentation, retail analytic tools and advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred
Experience with segmentation methods such as decision tree analysis and clustering using SAS e-Miner or other tools.
Extensive knowledge of card industry P&L, drivers and assumptions
Ability to justify assumptions/inputs and explain financial models and recommend strategies to varied stakeholder group
Excellent presentation and communication skills with proven experience interacting with all levels of the organization including explaining complex data clear and concisely.
Strong project management, communication, multi-tasking, relationship management, and the ability to work independently
Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals
Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis, glean and form business insights under aggressive timelines
Exposure to statistical modeling and machine learning techniques

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. The Accounting Intern will work in our Lincoln Park office. In addition to cleaning and analyzing data, the position will support the Department of Finance in reporting projects. Additional position functions include:
Participate in accounts payable activities including invoice entry and payment distribution
Assist in accounts receivable tasks including supporting credit card payment process
Aid in cash management through receipt reconciliation
Support month-end close process through general ledger entry
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited local college or university, with a major in Accounting
Ability to work independently and on a team in an office environment
Strong computer, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word skills
Demonstrated ability to problem solve
Excellent communication skills
Previous bookkeeping experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
This is an unpaid internship unless the applicant is able to coordinate sponsorship by the college or university
It is incumbent on the applicant to coordinate with the department or university for credit. The internship must be completed for credit at the student’s college or university.
Hours per week will be determined by that relationship, but 8-15 hours per week would be ideal
Start and end date dependent on internship curriculum and university requirements
This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will work with the VP of Finance.
